This week our sensory table contains sand and small foam letters. I placed the preschoolers name cards near the table and we have been encouraging them to find the letters in their name and place them on the correct spot on the card.

Farm Animals!
This week we have been learning about farms, farm animals, what farmers do, etc. We made some nice farm animal art!
Cow Milking!
After discussing where milk comes from we made cows while pretending to milk a cow.
I printed out a cow image on brown paper. Make sure to write the child's name on the back. Then I used a staple to poke a hole in each of the three middle fingers near the fingertip part of the glove. I mixed white paint and water until it was a milky consistency and poured it in the glove. I held the glove while the preschoolers "milked." They loved it so much that the next day I put a large garbage bag in the box and let them "milk" water from the glove. I had one preschooler say, "I want to milk the cow. I mean water the cow!"
Muddy Pigs!
We talked about how pigs can't sweat, so they roll in the mud to cool down. We decided we wanted to let our paper pigs have some fun mud rolling.
I printed a pig image on pink paper. Then we put the paper in the box (make sure names are on the back!). I had brown paint in a cup along with a few marbles. We used a spoon to drop the muddy marbles in the box and we moved the box around to move the muddy marbles.
Farm Bulletin Board
Here is a picture of our bulletin board that shows some of the finished artwork! We have some great volunteers that put the board together! We made the sheep using glue and cotton balls.
Not all of the animals would fit on the board, so the other animals will be placed in the hallway along with pictures of us creating the art!

Starting Out!
This is my first post on my first blog! I am excited to show you all the fun things we do in my preschool class! I am creating this blog so that parents of my preschoolers can see what we do in preschool! It may also be useful to anyone else who needs ideas for preschool. Yay! I'm finished with my first post!
